We stayed mon-Friday at the beginning of September. Our van was immaculate and in a fantastic location. It is certainly one of the smallest Haven sites we’ve been to, but for a cheap getaway it was fab.
We stayed for a week in July in a Deluxe newer model caravan. The accommodation was really modern, clean and well equipped and the grounds were well maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful. An on-site mini market and laundrette were very convenient with the shop being really well stocked all the time, reasonably priced, clean and had a little bit of everything. There is ample onsite entertainment with lots of shows, a games hall and arcade is a firm fave. The activities were great and varied and the pools were excellent. Checking in and out was easy. Passes included when booked through Haven and 24 activity passes for price of 20 made it even better value for money. The beach across the road was awesome. It was peaceful and quiet (unsure if gets much busier as week went first week of the summer hols). A walk along the beach or a ride on the beach train for 1 mile or so and you’re in Mablethorpe. Plenty of places to eat and lots of gift shops. Good parking facilities too courtesy of a pub nearby which also serves a nice carvery. We’ve booked again for next year and gone for upgraded accommodation.
We have just returned from our first camping trip at Golden Sands and loved it. My partner had read some poor reviews before we went so we were not expecting good things. However, we arrived and the very friend Receptionist at the Touring block pitched us close to facilities and the play area. He tries to pitch you in a place you want to be rather than get what you book which is a great idea. We had lots of room on out pitch. We went swimming and the pool was lovely with a water slide. There is a large climbing frame and sandpit not far from the swimming pool and places to get a drinks while the kids play. Lots of activities but they were fully booked unfortunately. The beach is beautiful and only a short walk from the park. We were exhausted after each day so ended up going to bed early but we were really impressed with what we saw. Lovely pitch, great staff and nice and quiet on an evening. We hope to return at some point.
